MUFON Case # 22055
On September 26, 2009 I was in New Milford Hmpshire west of Manchester. I was with my friend. We are both experienced pilots of commercial airlines with nearly 60 years and 40,000 hours of flying experience between them both. Around noon my friend called me excitedly out of the garage where we were working.
.
I pointed up at the sky in a north-east of Milford in the direction of the city of Manchester a strange object.
The object was at an altitude estimated to be 70 and 80 thousand feet and hovered over the area of \u200b\u200bManchester (Please bear in mind that we are faced with experienced pilots used to make estimates and judgments of elevation of an object).
was spherical in shape and silver gray. This item has been suspended for about 30 or 40 minutes. I've seen high-altitude weather balloons and I know that would be impossible for a ball to forecast the share to remain perfectly still for a few seconds, even on a quiet day.
Regarding the hypothesis of the helicopter is to be excluded because the altitude was too high. (Most of the helicopters can not stand still in suspension above 10 000 feet. Certainly not 70 or 80 thousand feet. We both observed the object for 30 or 40 minutes and then rose up towards the northeast at a speed that seems to have fizzled. I do not know what it was, and even my friend.
